Patagonia
Mountains, thick forests, crystal clear lakes, unmatched fishing spots, Mapuche
communities, delicious regional gastronomy, multiple recreational and rest places,
and varied services centres constitute a tourist destination to enjoy throughout
the year.
Lakes Corridor
It is constituted by a territory of lakes, rivers and mountains,
located in the northern limit of the Andean-Patagonian
Mountain Range, which includes the provinces of Neuquen,
Rio Negro and Chubut.
Nature
In Neuquen, this corridor comprises four National Parks (Lanin, Arrayanes,
Nahuel Huapi, and Laguna Blanca) and the internationally renowned Ruta de los
Siete Lagos (Seven Lakes Route), a highly scenic mountain road which joins the
towns of San Martin de los Andes and Villa La Angostura. Besides taking the
traditional excursions, at present visitors can enjoy admiring several migratory
bird species and the majestic Andean condor.
Following this corridor, visitors can do different leisure activities:

genetic fish.
Three worldly renowned mouths: Chimehuin River, Correntoso River and Limay River, all famous for the amount and
quality of trout anglers can catch in them.

downhill and off-piste skiing, snowboarding, snowshoe and snowmobile tours,
ski lessons and adapted skiing.

of the Earth in state-of-the-art facilities. Lahuen Co thermal springs (mountain

and silica) and with valuable characteristics for the treatment of skin and
respiratory system diseases.
RURAL TOURISM: people can visit ranches, agricultural tourism
sites, and native peoples' communities.
RELIGIOUS TOURISM: The Via Christi in Junin de los Andes
is a religious interest site, where 21 stations represent the most important
moments in Jesus’ life. Its most interesting characteristic is manifested by
the mixture of Christian and Mapuche features.
Tourist Centres: Alumine, Villa Pehuenia, Junin de los Andes,

Thermal Patagonia
In different spots of the province, thermal waters spring up naturally, and
offer you the possibility to enhance your health, relieve body pains and forget
about stress, by a relaxing activity that makes you regain your energy.
Some of the activities you can choose to do include walking among fumaroles, submerging in
hot water pools, or enjoying a pleasant hydromassage with waters from Copahue Volcano.
Copahue Provincial Park, with its millenarian
araucaria forest, offers you the perfect scenery
to rest and recreate, where you can practise different activities, such as trekking, mountaineering, and winter or nautical sports, depending
on the time of the year.
You can practise skiing among ancient araucaria
forests, take snowmobile excursions, bathe in
volcano waters in Caviahue, and tour the area on
Siberian huskies-drawn sleighs. A special attraction is the articulated snowtrack, to take excursions around the area or up the volcano to practise freestyle skiing. Besides, you can take trips
from Caviahue to Copahue with snow gear, during which you can admire the beauty of a snowcovered town.
