Germans in Azerbaijan
The most popular are courses for students, wishing to continue their training
in the German colleges. But requirements to them are more strict; annually Germany
DAAD (German service of the academic exchange) gives grants for interested persohs
to pass a magistracy. For reception of the grant it is necessary to pass examinations
and to receive the invitation from one of German colleges.
Pianist Gulchin Aslanova - one of the students of Kapelhaus, has perfectly
disposed of such grant - during passage of a magistracy she has presented herself
in a good light and achieved the invitation, and now she is working in one of
the well-known symphonic orchestras of Germany. Except for the grants of DAAD,
there is a separate program for the teachers, wishing to pass the advanced training
courses in Germany.
Zahra Aliyeva, a teacher of the German language at the University of Languages,
more than a year works as manager of Kapelhaus. Within two years she passed
magistracy at University of Munich.
One of the main reasons of growth of popularity of courses in Kapelhaus -as
considers Zahra Aliyeva - that is more and more than citizens of our country
wish to perceive themselves Europeans. This process became mass among students,
more and more young people are aimed at getting of European education. Attending
the German language courses in school period therefore is desirable.
There are many courses of German in Baku, but Kapelhaus has three advantages
- participation of students in the cultural program of the center, Germanspeaking
environment and high level of preparation of teachers.
More and more young people wish not only to receive the diploma in Germany,
but their overall objective is mastering a professional knowledge and traditions
of labor ethics of the country - the leader of the European economy.
Two years of training in Munich, have enriched notions of Zahra about Germany
and Germans. Certainly, they are workaholics, but that does not prevent them
to be open, contact and benevolent people.
Especially when your interlocutors find out, that not less than 50 thousand
Germans lived in Azerbaijan before the Second World War, and they have founded
such flourishing cities, as Hellendorffe (Khanlar), Annenfelde (present Shamkir).
For citizens of Germany working in Baku, it is a pleasant unexpectedness to
find out, that in our city long sirice there is one of the best in the CIS of
schools of Germanic philology, our historians and archeologists till now study
works of native of Khanlar (Hellendorffe) archeologist J.Gummel, and in Baku,
Sumgait and Shaki there are branches of German cultural association "Die
Wiedergeburt".
Every Sunday the members of "Die Wiedergeburt" association gather
in the cozy hall of Kapelhaus, where rehearsals of children chorus are held
and preparation for celebrations of holidays is carried out.
Everyone who loves German culture and art would like to learn the country
of great philosophers, scientific, artists and musicians - welcome to Kapelhaus!
