Khanlar
It is expanse for tourists, travelers, lovers of the nature, and also for hunters
and fishers. Khanlar is the most beautiful area at the foot-hill of the Less
Caucasus Mountains, rich gardens and woods, rivers and lakes. The highest point
is Garnish Mountain on Murov-dag ridge (3724 m). Climate is moderate-hot. Due
to the magnificent nature, affability of the local population, wide opportunities
for renting private accommodation and services of conductors, the Khanlar zone
has turned into the region of pilgrimage of tourists and lovers of ecological
rest. Tourist routes combine visiting magnificent secluded spots of nature with
sight-seeing of historical monuments.
Tour to the amazing lake in Ghoy-gol reserve, extending for 40 km, is very
popular. There are routes for 9, 15 and 18 km. Tourists visit and inspect churches
of " Gabriel" and St. Maria, the White Bridge (XII century), barrows
of the Bronze Age, ancient towers and fortresses.
