Buryat village

Ethnographic museum «Buryat village» is a living history museum which recreates 19th century's life of the Buryats, the indigenous population of the island Olkhon. You will not only discover the folklore, national crafts, household's principles, way of life and beliefs of Buryats, but also see performances of young fighters, listen to folk legends, mysteries, and songs.

Moreover, you will be offered to try the most respected Buryat food - home-made cottage cheese, sour cream, Salomat, and cheese. In addition, you may visit the museum «Birds and animals of Baikal land». At the end, you will be invited to take part in family yohor, roundelay, which is an ancient traditional ceremony dedicated to carol Mother Nature, motherland, wealth and prosperity of Family.

The excursion lasts 1-1.5 hours.
