Hami
Located in the east of Xinjiang, Hami is the closest city in Xinjiang to central
China. The city nestles in a basin at the center of Hami Oasis, enjoying a temperate
continental climate. With a long history of melon cultivation, it produces excellent
sweet melons. Famous tourist attractions include Ruins of the White Poplar Gully,
Id Kah Mosque and the Islamic King Tombs.
The Islamic King Tombs
The Islamic King Tombs, 500 meters west of Hami City, is a graveyard of kings
and royal members of the ancient dynasties based in Hami. The largest tomb is
the one for the seventh king.
