Barrel of the Russian artillery gun

The barrel is a monument of the Russian weaponry of the XIX century's second half. Was used in defense of the Russian fortress Port-Arlhur during, the Russian Japanese War of 1901-1905. Guns of this type were in operational service with the Russian Coastal Defense Artillery, their function being-to destroy Enemy's battleships.

Specifications:

  • Calibre 152 mm
  • Barrel length 656 cm.

Fabricated in Sankt-Petersburg at the Obuchowski Steel Works in 1901. The barrel has an inscription in hieroglyphs that reads: "To the memory of the 1904-1965 years battles. Was installed in the museum's yard by the Soviet Army artillerymen in 1953".
