Fishing on Chivyrkuy Bay

Fishing on Chivyrkuy Bay

The Chivyrkuy Bay is situated in the Zabaikalsky (Transbaikal) National Park. Being quite remote from big cities, it does not enjoy great numbers of anglers. However, over the last few years, they are getting more and more numerous. The largest nearby settlement is Ust-Barguzin (about 60 km). In the early 20th century, the Bay used to have the most prolific commercial fishing, which had almost disappeared by the late 1970s. In 1987, the area was included in the just-opened Zabaikalsky National Park. The Bay is rather shallow, the depth averaging 6-8 m, and its shores are split in a multitude of coves convenient for fishing.

Season: from 13 June till 1 October.

During this period grayling and Lenok are most active, and you may have the best possible catch of trophy pike and perch. Medium-sized pike (4-8 kg) and perch (0.5 – 1 kg) are frequently caught throughout summer.

Tour overview:

We suggest going fishing by motorboat two times a day – in the morning and evening, each time for about 3-4 hours. The guide will lead you to the spots, where you are most likely to get some worthy fish specimens. Optionally, we can arrange a 2-day fishing trip with an overnight in tents.

Accommodation:

  • two twin summer cabins with amenities (composting toilet, shower, washbasin, and electric lighting), an extra bed is available if needed;
  • two triple summer cabins without amenities (equipped with electric lighting and heater);
  • tents with wooden floor.

Medical insurance:

Provided for all fishermen.

Meals:
