Christmas markets in Niedersachsen
Mulled wine in a wicker beach chair, you can only find that in Niedersachsen.
Where you find Christmas markets on floating pontoons in the sea or in an imperial
setting, all wishes will surely come true. The aroma of cinnamon blueberry soup
wafts through the illuminated half- timbered side streets and mixes with the
smell of roasted almonds. Gingerbread houses and all sorts of tasty treats are
offered from lovingly decorated sales stands. Now all we're waiting for is the
first snowflakes to transform the market square into a white Christmas wonderland.
Luneburg
The splendid Baroque facade of the town hall radiates a Christmas glow and
serves as the festive setting for the Luneburg Christmas market. A jewel of
the Advent period is the historic Christ market in the old town, where farmers
and craftsmen stroll around in the costumes of the 1 century.
