Roda de Bara
Roda de Bara
In the 1st century BC the Romans built the Via Augusta and on it the famous
Triumphal Arch (the Arch of Bara). Today, this area is the town of Roda de Bara,
with a privileged geographical location between the sea and the coastal mountain
range that gives it a mild climate.
Once an agricultural centre it has now become a holiday resort and an important
residential area, with gardens, children’s playgrounds, and promenades. The
pleasant residential estates, the holiday complex and the firstand second-category
campsites make it the ideal place for a family holiday.
The town's three kilometres of coastline with long, golden sand beaches and
charming coves have been awarded the Blue Flag, the IS014001 and the EMAS for
water quality and the preservation of the sand dune ecosystems.
