Bocskai Istvain museum
Only a kilometre's walk from the spa, the museums offer interesting exhibitions
and fascinating programmes. You can try on the clothes the Haiduks wore four
hundred years ago, take their rifles in your hands, write something on a slate,
and smell the vaporised thermal water erupting from a model derrick. In our
exhibition on local history you can see valuable coin findings, artefacts of
the Haiduks, in the folk art exhibition you can take a glimpse into the world
of the shepherds of the Hortobagy puszta and recognise the famous pottery of
Nadudvar. In our modern art exhibition you can find some of the most impressive
pieces of geometric painting along with works by Picasso and Chagall.
The retro exhibition gives a playful insight into the everyday life of socialist
Hungary.
