The Art Museum

It is the richest museum out of all Siberian museums. It is based on the gathering of works of artofV.P. Sukachev, the public figure and city mayor. The museum keeps collections of ancient Russian and Siberian icons, religious wooden sculptures of the XVII century, canvases of Russian and West-European artists, rare samples of the ll-XXth - century Chinese wooden sculpture, articles made of bronze, lacquer, bone and stone.

Along with the permanent exhibition the museum also arranges temporary displays of some Irkutsk painters. More frequently they are set up in the museum exhibition halls in Karl Marx St., 25.
