Pribaikalsky National Park

Pribaikalsky National Park (PNP) was founded in 1986 for the preservation of western Baikal’s unique natural life, plants, and animals, and for protection of its picturesque locales and rare archeological and historical/cultural sites.

470 km long Pribaikalsky National Park is the largest, protected territory of Baikal shoreline : the park is nearly the forth of the length of lake Baikal. 25 different species of fish inhabit I PNP’s rivers and lakes. Terrestrial animals include 4 amphibian species, 5 reptiles, 64 mammals and 340 birds. There are 60 endangered vertebrate species in the region. There are 6077 species of spore plants are endangered species of Irkutsk province.
