Ipatievsky Monastery
The most impressing sight of Kostroma is Ipatievsky Monastery located at the
confluence of the two biggest rivers of the city the Volga and the Kostroma.
This place amazes with its majestic view and its history, which is closely linked
with the Romanov dynasty that use'- - -ule Russia for more than 300 years. By
the walls of this monastery Michael nomanov was offered the Russian Crown to

Close to Ipatievsky Monastery, there is a unique museum of Russian wooden architecture
in the open air. Dozens of wooden architecture monuments are collected here,
which in combination with beautiful nature and the interior of the wooden huts
totally recreate the atmosphere of a Russian village of the 19th century. For
a reason this museum in a Kostroma suburb is justly considered to be one of
the most representative museums in Central Russia.
