The Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace offers a large variety of places
to stay. Hotels and accommodations of all classes operate for the service of
visitors throughout the year. The visitor may choose to stay at any city, or
the several offshore, mountainous or traditional settlements scattered throughout
the Region.
For the greater success of any excursion, the visitor must find in time a place
to stay, as availability depends on the season and the activities that take
place.
Cost
One may spend ?45 - ? 110 for two-bed rooms, depending on the class and the
season. One must also spend ?15 - ?30 per person for every meal, depending of
the restaurant category and season.
Food
Food is a unique experience in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace. Traditional Macedonian
and Thracian recipes are creatively combined with the products of local production,
as well as with the tradition of the kitchen of Pontii, Sarakatsani, refugees
from Eastern Thrace, Eastern Romylia, Cappadokia and Minor Asia, of the Armenians,
the Romas, the Pomaks and the Turks.
