Biragzang thermal sources
It includes the functioning sanatorium "Tamisk" built on the basis
of hydrogen sulfide sources, and the sanatorium "Alagir". On the territory
of the ground there is the cave "Tshubi-nykhas", a place where rare
species of bats hibernate.
Biragzang thermal sources are of special interest. The area of Biragzang mineral
waters deposit is situated four hundred metres from the village Biragzang in
Alagir district of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. It is thirty kilometres
from the capital — the city of Vladikavkaz, on the right bank of the river Ardon,
on the territory of an enormous forest-park zone at the foot of the Lesistii
range. A pore 2 370 m in depth was bored in 1990-1993. The pore was not exploited.
The waters of Biragzang deposit have the following indices:
- temperature — +50°C;
- mineralization — 1 g/dm3;
- self-flow out of water — 2,4 dm3/sec (C category).
The exploitation license is given out to the limited liability company "Akvadon"
that is planning to build an all-year health-improvement complex on the basis
of Biragzang mineral sources. The thermal characteristics of the source enable
one to use its waters for buildings'heating.
