Kora deposit
It is located in Digor district, between the mountains, in the valley of the
river Ursdon at the height of 600-700 m above sea level, between the Lesistii
and Pastbitshii ranges within the projected district of the resort Ursdon's
sanitary protection. Due to the absolute heights of the district, average annual
air temperature and precipitation quantity this territory is close to Pyatigorsk
resort. The seasonal sanatorium for treatment "Ursdon"‘and the tourist
centre "Ursdon" are located on the territory of Kora healing and health-improvement
locality. The main healing factor is mineral waters of Kora deposit:
- of low mineralization, hydro carbonate chloride sodium boric, of low temperature,
drinkable medicinal;
- of high mineralization, chloride sodium iodine-bromine, low alkaline, cold
for spa treatment and medicinal drinking;
- of high mineralization, chloride sodium boric, alkalescent, of low temperature,
for external spa treatment;
- of average mineralization, sulphate-chloride calcium-sodium, hydrogen sulfide,
thermal for external spa treatment.
The mineral waters of Kora deposit are used for treatment of digestive, central
and peripheral nervous systems diseases, locomotor illnesses, skin and gynaecological
pathologies, metabolic diseases. To redouble the therapeutic effect they apply
mineral water that is received by mixing different types of waters. The operating
reserves make 630 m! a day. In addition to mineral waters Ursdon's healing muds
are also of certain value. The worth-while Ursdon area of healing clays-tereklitos'
deposit is situated in Digor district, in the south-western outskirts of the
village Kora-Ursdon. Clays-tereklitos are classified as healing low mineralized
non-sulphide clays. According to the preliminary prospecting data the reserves
make 584 910 m.
