Mount Kazbek

North Ossetia-Alania > Mount Kazbek

Mount Kazbek

Making the popular route to Mount Kazbek (5 033,8 m.a.s.l.) convenient is also of importance. Mount Kazbek is one of the most beautiful peaks of the Main Caucasus range. It is between Kazbek and Elbrus that the mountaineer mecca of Russia, called the Central Caucasus, is situated. The region of Kazbek is notable for its unique natural and architectural complex: alpine meadows with endemic plants, glaciers, going down Kazbek's slopes, high-mountain thermal sources with different balneology, the highest in Europe waterfalls and and also well-preserved monuments of the Alans-Ossetians' medieval culture.

From the investment point of view Kazbek is at present one of the most attractive tourist pearls not only of the North Caucasus but of Russia as well.
