Invierea Domnului (Church of Sucevita Monastery)

(Year of construction: 1582. Sucevita Commune, Suceava County). It was founded by metropolitan Gheorghe Movila and ruler leremia Movila. The church was painted during 1596-1602. Horezu ceramics

Horezu ceramics is a traditional craft, whose first documented evidence appeared in a charter belonging to ruler Vlad Calugarul, dating back to 1487. The craft is practiced in the northern part of Valcea county, reflecting its mastership and knowledge by generations of locals in the area. Men and women share the manufacturing process: men are in charge of extracting the earth and transforming it into pottery clay and women decorate the pots using specific tools and techniques, turning them into objects that define their personality and uniqueness.
