Climat of Rostov region
Rostov Region lies in the territory of the Russian Plain. Mostly it is plain
but includes the part of the Midlle Russian Highland.
It is the steppe region, only in the South-East there are some semi-desert
areas. Approximately 5.6% of lands is covered with forests. Fertile soil farms’
fields are the main part of the landscape.
In Rostov Region temperate continental climate prevails. It is characterized
by the combination of high temperatures and relative low humidity level.
Average annual temperature fluctuates from 7 CU to 10 CU above zero. The
coldest months are January and February. The temperature can go down to 30
C below zero. July – the most hot month, the temperature may reach 40 CU
above zero.
Don Land is very windy region. Strong eastern and south-eastern winds blow
mostly in winter and eastern and western in spring. Strong western winds blow
mostly in summer.
The warmest season in Rostov Region lasts from May to September. Average
temperature at this period is the same as in Black Sea Region.
Relative average monthly humidity in Rostov Region is lower than in Black
Sea Region.
There are a lot of beautiful sandy beach areas in the region as well as
on Beglitskaya Spit and Chumburskaya Spit at Azov Sea Coast.
