Vesenskaya
Stanitsa Veshenskaya is located in the North of the Rostov Region. It is
364 km from Rostov-on-Don.
Stanitsa was founded in 1640.
Veshenskaya is one of the most beautiful Don settlements with its wonderful
green pine trees and crystal lakes. The history of this place inseparably
connected with the name of famous Russian writer Mikhail Sholokhov. All his
creative activity was dedicated to Veshenskaya, its nature, the life of Don
Cossacks, their customs and traditions. The Sholokhov’s Museum was opened
in Veshenskaya after the writer’s death in 1984. Tourists from all over the
world visit this place to pay tribute to the memory of this great writer.
There are no any industrial centers in Veshenskaya, that is why its wonderful
pine and oak forests, pure lakes, fresh air, sandy beach area are ideal for
SPA treatment.
