Cycling trails in Liptov

There are many marked cycling trails of various difficulties in Liptov. They join each other and thus connect all significant tourist centres and interesting cultural and natural sites of the region. Liptov will surely satisfy even the most demanding cycling tourists. There are ideal conditions for recreational cyclists, as well as for sport enthusiasts eager for an adrenaline experience. Easy cycling trails around Liptovskd Mara or trips in foothills of the Low Tatras and the Western Tatras are rather popular. A busy highway crosses the region, and so the cyclists can use less busy regional roads. All the bicycle trips do have something in common - inherent unforgettable scenery of spectacular Liptov countryside.

Donovaly Cycling Artery (section Ruzomberok - Donovaly)

A medium difficult cycling trail starts at BILLA supermarket in Ruzomberok, leads out of the town up the stream of river Revuca and joins the former Korytnica railway track. It slightly ascends and then descends to Biely Potok and then it takes you to the roadhouse Vlci dvor on the other bank of river Revuca, where it joins the railway track again. In one point the cycling trail crosses the main road - please be very careful there. Then it continues along the left side of the main road to Podsuchd, there it crosses the main road again, and continues to Liptovskd Osada. From Podsuchd to Liptovskd Osada the trail goes along a non-asphalt road with reinforced surface. The trail con¬tinues through Liptovskd Osada along the main road to Patociny and then it joins the railway track again. From the crossroad at Korytnica, the trail ascends along the main road up to the final point of the cycling trail - to Donovaly.

A medium difficult cycling trail that starts behind Partizdnska Lupca. It alternately ascends and descends along an asphalt road of low quality and continues through fields and around forest above the village Liptovske Kl'acany. It descends to village Lubela along a state road and then ascends through village Dubrava to the foothills of the Low Tatras. Before Dubravskd valley, above the village Lazisko, it turns to a road of worse quality. An ascen\ follows and then you go down the hill to village Pave ina Lehota and to Demdnovskd valley. The trail crosses the main road and continues through villages Plostin and Il'anovo. It often ascends and offers nice views of town Liptovsky Mikulds on the left. The trail continues through Zdvaznd Poruba and alternately ascends and descends along a forest road to Liptovsky Jan and further to village Podturen. Behind the village it joins the main road to Liptovsky Hrddok. It goes across the bridge over river Beld, turns right to the embankment and continues to Lip¬tovskd Porubka. It goes across the village, gets near forests of the Low Tatras and continues to Krdl'ova Lehota. Then the trail alternately ascends and descends as far as to the water reservoir Cierny Vdh. It meanders through forest along the water reservoir, shorts ascends switch with downhills. The trail ends at the crossroad at the gamekeeper's lodge Biely Potok.
