International Nettle Festival
Tula region > International Nettle Festival

International Nettle Festival

Every year in early summer the In-ternational Nettle Festival is held in the village of Krapivna, branch of the museum-estate «Yasnaya Polyana». Nettle became the official symbol of the festival, as it embodies love of life, fortitude, strength and revival.

Festive events take place simulta-neously at several out-of-door venues. Every year the main concert venue becomes a place for music experiments. It can be now safely said that the In-ternational Nettle Festival has developed its own unique style, which can be defined as ethno-folk-jazz.

During the festival the main square of the village turns into fairground. Guests are invited to go through so called «nettle baptism», taste various netde treats, take part in «nettle battles» and much more.
