Tyumen region > Fisherman's day
Every year on the second Sunday of July, in the Tazovsky district one of the
traditional holiday — Fisherman’s day — is celebrated. During the celebration
in the towns and villages of the district the major national sporting events
are held, for example, beach football, sport fishing, cross country running,
the national triple jump, stick and rope pulling, lifting weights. Guests and
performers come, the main dish (uha — fish soup) is cooked, which is presented
for honoring the top performers and industry veterans. During the celebration,
the residents also organize trade fairs where products of national crafts are
sold.
