African Spoonbil
The African Spoonbil is a large white bird with a red and distinctive bill shaped a spoon, thus the name.
The African spoonbill sweeps the bottom of rivers with its wide bill for food.
- Habitat: Large, shallow inland waters such as lakes and rivers, marshes, flood plains, reservoirs and artificial ponds.
- Threats:
Disturbance of breeding colonies, habitat destruction.
- Range:Africa and Madagascar.
