Dubai Cruise Terminal
Enter the unique ship-shaped Dubai Cruise Terminal, conveniently situated at
berths 9 and 10 in Port Rashid Spanning an area of 3,300 sq m, DCT can handle
up to two ships simultaneously. In fact, its deep basin gives cruise companies
the option of bringing larger ships into the calm waters of the Port. Some of
the major cruises that have docked at Dubai Cruise Terminal include Queen Elizabeth
2, Silver Cloud, Seven Seas Voyager and Hebridean Spirit.
Stopping over at Dubai is an ideal choice as it is also a port for vessel repositioning.
Being midway between Europe and Asia, the city is logistical]}' suitable for
cruise lines to offer a shorter segment on this type of cruise, which would
expand their potential market by reducing the overall cost to the passenger.
As a prime cruise hub of the region, the DCT can accommodate up to 1,000 passenger
capacity in 3, 4 and 7-day cruises that can be sustained for a 3 to 6-month period.
7-day cruises would be best operated between port ranges of Muscat to Bahrain.
These smaller vessels would also have access to many other minor ports and sites
including the fjords on the Musandam Peninsula. Whereas, for larger vessels up
to 2,000 passenger capacity, you can plan a 7 to 10-day extended port cruise,
which could also include India.
