Expo Centre Sharjah, the exhibition wing of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce
and Industry, has played a significant role in the economic growth of die emirate
of Sharjah. "Economic activities continue in fall swing in the emirate.
This has tremendously benefited Expo Centre Sharjah and the huge success of
its shows in 2009 and 2018 stands testimony to this," said Saif Mohammed
Al Midfo, Director-General of the Expo Centre Sharjah.
The Dh76-billion Sharjah economy is powered by its core sectors of manufacturing,
construction, trade, tourism and cultural activities. The emirate has seen the
number of tourist arrivals increase by 11 per cent in the first half of 2018
and its trade is docking impressive growth with every passing quarter, "With
Sharjah being a gateway to the entire Middle East and North Africa region, the
CIS countries and the subcontinent, all our shows have been able to make a great
impact in their respective industrial segments, said Al Midfa. "This has
encouraged us to enter 2019 with much confidence. Expo Centre Sharjah, which
is the centrepiece of the planned Expo City in the emirate and is spread across
128,000 square metres, wilt host nearly 20 shows and several other events in
2019.
Expo Centre Sharjah was established in 1977 as the first conference and exhibition
complex in the UAE and the Gulf region and is affiliated with the Sharjah Chamber
of Commerce and Industry.
