Fedor Ivanovich Tolbukhin
Fedor Ivanovich Tolbukhin is a distinguished Soviet commander, Marshal of
the Soviet Union, Hero of the Soviet Union. He was born in Androniki village
of the Romanov-Borisoglebsk district. During the hard war years he had always
been at the command posts. Under his command the Soviet forces won the victories
in military operations in Taganrog, Crimea, Budapest, Vienna. His troops took
part in the liberation of Bulgaria, Romania, Yugoslavia, and Austria. The Bulgarian
government set up a monument to the famous marshal in the centre of Sofia. Now
this memorial made by Bulgarian sculptors llya llev and Mara Georgieva is located
in Tutaev in
Yubileinaya Square.
