Yakov Dedyulin
The War of 1812 was not accidentally called Patriotic as the men of all ages
fought against the army of Napoleon. Our small town never stood aside in the
years difficult for the country. It made its contribution to the victory. Romanov-Borisoglebsk
gave 30 thousand roubles for army needs (in those days it was a large sum of
money) and joined 1346 Romanov troopers to Yaroslavl volunteer corps. The commander
of this volunteer corps was Major-General Yakov Ivanovich Dedyulin — a
native of the Romanov-Borisoglebsk territory.
