Lenin Mausoleum
The Lenin Mausoleum is located under the Kremlin Wall in the Red
Square. It is a marker of the Soviet period in Russian history. Wilhin the
Mausoleum's Mourning Chamber is a crystal sarcophagus with the body of Vladimir
Lenin, the leader of the October Revolution of 1917. The marble and granite
Mausoleum was built in 1930. Above it is a podium where Russia's leaders have
been seen greeting the military parades and public celebrations for over 70
years builders.
