The Urbanism Museum

It narrates the contribution of representatives of all the classes of Irkutsk residents to the cultural life of the city, the peculiarities of the 19-century townspeople's'way of life. The Urbanism Museum features a calm, cozy and home atmosphere. One can picture small girls their toe-length dresses on and boys in short trousers with sabers in their hands running here along narrow corridors from one room to anotner. The master of the house is reading a newspaper in an armchair in the sitting room. And behind his back the mistress is giving instructions to a servant while setting some articles on the chest-of-drawers. Everybody is preparing for the Easter dinner. One is making dough for Easter cakes, eggs are being colored in the water with onion peels... In short, at this museum you can be wrapped up into the atmosphere of the 19 century.
